John Gagliano is an aviation attorney and a former Naval Aviator; after serving on active duty for nine years he attended and graduated from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. During law school John completed a successful internship for the Honorable John R. Padova of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. John began working at a prominent aviation law firm in September, 2008. John’s law practice now focuses on complex litigation for a variety of aviation clients.

Demonstrated Results

John’s experience translates into results. As a trial lawyer for plaintiffs, John’s work has secured outcomes of more than $123 million for his clients, including seventeen outcomes of more than $2 million and three outcomes greater than $10 million.

High Stakes Experience

Before entering a courtroom, John proved his ability to perform under pressure as a Naval Aviator. John’s first deployment to Afghanistan was one week after 9/11. John deployed on September 18, 2001 on board USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and flew more than 80 combat missions over Afghanistan. John deployed to a joint Iraq/Afghanistan tour in September 2003 on board USS Enterprise (CVN-65) and flew several dozen more combat missions. John’s personal awards include the Air Medal (four awards), the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal (two awards).

Legal Expertise

John is a Florida Bar Board Certified Aviation Lawyer who regularly educates other lawyers as a Continuing Legal Education facilitator on a variety of legal subjects including aviation regulations, statutes, and litigation strategies. John is regularly sought by media outlets to comment on aviation and the law. Technical Expertise

John began his career by earning his Mechanical Engineering degree at Villanova University. Later, as a seasoned flight instructor, he taught hundreds of new aviators how to master the challenges of flight. John uses his engineering and teaching experience to lead teams of engineers, scientists, experts, and other lawyers in the investigation, testing and demonstration of crash sequences and product failures. John uses his education and background to describe and demonstrate complex technical and legal issues to courts and juries with great success.

John’s aviation and leadership experience have given him the compassion and understanding to interact with clients facing serious legal issues and the confidence to approach sophisticated problems with poise and determination.
